Experienced students will enjoy the challenges in this class. Pastels,
watercolour pencils, and pen and ink and watercolour combined will be
covered. You will learn how to use a T-square and set square in drawing
buildings, streets and a variety of subjects. Completing the drawing's
details and using
watercolour to enhance the subject will be discussed.
Acrylics Workshop

Chuck's workshops in acrylics are designed for beginners or advanced
students. Classes will involve demonstrations, critiques and group
discussions. There will be ample opportunity to paint in the class. Emphasis
will be on a simple approach to achieving strong successful paintings.
Floral Watercolour

This course will give the painter the confidence to create a finished floral
watercolour. With Cindy's usual format of theory technique and application,
you will learn in a relaxed, fun and informal atmosphere. The student is
encouraged to bring reference material to class although plenty will be
provided.
Backgrounds, foliage and design will be covered as well as critiques and the
popular "trouble shooting". If you've ever admired those loose, fresh
watercolour florals, come out and learn to paint them yourself!
Experience an asset but not a prerequisite.
Precious Metal Clay - Jewellery

Art Clay Silver is a water-based clay made of pure silver powder, water and an organic binder. It can be moulded easily, allowing pure silver jewellery
to be created without specialized tools or soldering. It is dried and then fired with a torch or kiln to become 99.9% pure silver.
This is an introductory class during which you will learn the basic
techniques of working with art clay silver. You will also learn some basic
silver finishing skills. A textured pendant and a filigree pendant will be
created.
Silk Painting

Learn how to create stunning silk paintings using water-soluble gutta
outliner and iron fixing paints. Personal attention and group demonstration
will assist you to produce two or more pieces of your unique silk painting.
You will explore colour mixing, wet and dry painting techniques, learn to
create different patterns and textures using salt, stenciling, sponging and wax batik. Once you start to use these methods you will be stimulated to experiment with new ideas on your own.
The instructor will have a variety of designs but students are encouraged to bring or create their own design. The finished piece will be approximately 20" by 20"
Materials fee of $55.00 is payable to the instructor
Watercolour Winter Village

In this two day workshop Alana will help you to create your own charming "winter scape" using fun techniques and innovative methods of application.
Alana's popular workshops will inspire you to paint within a relaxed and
supportive environment.

Coloured Pencil Technique

Welcome to the new world of coloured pencils. This new medium has developed
into a sophisticated drawing tool. Learn how to utilize coloured pencils to
produce rich, lush drawings.
Students will learn blending, value, burnishing and colour layering pencil
techniques. Basic drawing knowledge would be helpful to the student. Still
life compositions will be used to introduce the students to coloured
pencils.
Come and learn the exciting and simple methods of this innovative drawing
technique.
An artist grade set of pencils is required and can be ordered
from the instructor. Please call the Gallery for more information.

How to Register
Payment is required to register and early registration is recommended, as class size is limited.
Registration for all classes are accepted at the Gallery, from 10:00am to 4pm. Closed from 11:30 - 12:00. Open Tuesday to Saturday.
Classes may be paid by cash, cheque, Mastercard or Visa.
If there is not enough enrollment in a class, it will be cancelled one week prior to the start date. A full refund will apply. |
INVITATION TO FUTURE INSTRUCTORS
The Art’s Programming Committee is presently accepting
proposals for art class instruction for ALL learners (new &
experienced artists, for adults & children) and will be preparing
their - 2008 Art Programming brochure in the very near future.
Classes will be well advertised (an image of your work may be
required for this purpose). Instructors will provide all needed art
supplies and materials for the classes (a fee may be charged to
participants for supplies provided by artist). The gallery pays a
competitive hourly rate for all instruction.
If you are interested in offering art instruction, in a one or two day
workshop or in a series of classes please submit a brief bio
of your art experience and a short outline of the proposed course.
